      T-56 Adjustable Transmission Crossmember Flex?

I did a T56 conversion a couple of years ago. I have always thought it flexed way to much. There are certain times i can see my shift knob bounce a good inch or two. It this common or should i get a different/stronger crossmember? This is the model i went with: http://www.speedtechperformance.com/...rod/prd258.htm

That's a good crossmember. What trans mount are you using?

I installed a kit from hurst driveline conversions. I am not 100% which brand mount they supplied. I don't think the mount it the problem and i remember being able to push up on the crossmember and make it move...

      Yes, they do that.
I posted the same thing in 2010...

It is the flat plate on the bottom.
Speedtech has revised the mounts in the last couple of years to have a bent bottom plate which stiffens it up.

I just got used to it, and deal with it. Mine at worst moves about 1/2"

The thing that annoys me the most is since my car's exhaust is hard mounted, if the engine is able to rock like that, the exhaust system moves a lot.

That motion could fatigue some parts...

I totally forgot that I added gussets like this in this for sale ad. It helped some.

You could get Speedtech to send you a pic of the current model?
I have a template of a plate I was going to weld to the bottom plate, making it basically a doubler.
If I remember correctly, the bottom plate is 1/4", and the slots for the trans mount almost go all the way across it.

The bottom plate is definitely the bending spot.
