Body Wiring harness for Gen5 LT in 69 Camaro with Dakota Digital Gauges

I'm putting a Gen 5 LT engine in my 69 Camaro, and the controller comes with its own harness that runs all the engine/fuel/transmission stuff. I'll be using Dakota Digital Gauges that are fed from the ECM data port and an IDIT steering column. Is the painless 23 circuit harness the only option or are there better ones?

American Autowire Classic update for a 69 Camaro is a good way to go imho. Just don’t use what you don’t need.

As Don mentioned, American Autowire is a good way to go. I used their Classic Update kit on my Chevelle. And I just purchased their Highway 22 universal kit for my 55 Chevy project. I went with the universal kit this time around because there is literally nothing from 55 still left on the car, so a universal kit seemed to make sense.

Another vote for the AAW Classic update kit. I removed the wires I wasn’t using (like on the engine harness) and re-purposed them with other wires. Cleaned things up a bit. They still use the Packard 56 terminals so with the correct crimper, they are super easy.
