      Favorite YouTube Channels / recomendations?

I've been watching a lot more YouTube episode styled content on my TV lately than regular TV shows. I was an avid fan of Roadkill and enjoyed a bit of Dirt Every Day before those shows left YouTube for MotorTrend. I did a search and it's been a few years since I've seen anyone list out some recommended YouTube channels.

Here are the ones I've been enjoying recently.

Cleetus Mcfarland https://www.youtube.com/user/GARRETTmitch - Uploads videos every ~2 days. Team of 3 people whose full time jobs are the channel. Probably the fastest growing automotive focused channel. Mostly focused on drag racing cars but the volume and quality of the content this channel produces is incredible. I don't love everything but once I got into the channel I've found I really enjoy it. For example he was able to compete in Rocky Mountain Race Week, win his class, and upload a quality video every single day of the competition.

Finnegan's Garage https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1I...gGiuHFLJqHbG_g - Uploads videos monthly. Roadkill host Mike Finnegan's personal channel. Lots of interesting stuff on his channel with most videos including some type of tech tip or insight into fabrication or mechanical stuff. If you like ramp trucks, this one is for you!

Bad Obsession Motorsport https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHv...B7NyU5tIiEZHBg - Uploads video's sporadically. The most entertaining fabrication channel I've watched. These guys are 5+ years into the worlds most over engineered and fabricated AWD Classic Mini build. Very high quality fabrication and high quality video production. If you haven't watched their "Project Binky" mini build then you are in for a binge watching treat.

Mighty Car Mods https://www.youtube.com/user/mightycarmods - Uploads at least weekly sometimes multiple times a week. Do I have to explain this one? Probably the longest running YouTube series on modifying all kinds of cars. These guys are based in Australia and love Japanese cars but have done a little of everything.

The Fabrication Series https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcx...rjTVSSUkzZ2Jlg - Uploads multiple times a month. Great "how to" series on all aspects of fabrication. I enjoyed the roll cage series a lot when considering doing my own roll cage build.

Hoonigan https://www.youtube.com/user/TheHoonigans/videos - uploads every few days. Probably another one I don't really have to explain. But these guys have all kinds of "shows" within the Hoonigan universe and cover everything from builds to the dumbest (mostly in a good way) car shenanigans you can think of. The masterminds behind the Gymkhana series with Ken Block.

Watching some of these shows has even inspired me to try and create some of my own episodic content focused on autocross and track events with pro touring cars.
AutoXandTrack https://www.youtube.com/c/autoxandtrack - Uploading 1-2 times a month. Recently switched from posting lap videos to episodes. I'll be focusing on maintaining and building the two channel cars (67 Mustang track car and 68 pro touring Camaro) and attending autocross and track events.

What other channels do you guys like? I'm interested in content that I can sit on my couch and watch instead of a TV show. Aka entertaining with more than just a video of fastest lap or a 2 minute walk around of a car.

I also suggest searching classic Motor Week retro reviews, good for a laugh! https://www.youtube.com/user/Motorweek

Thought I'd add another channel I've found to be entertaining.

Vice Grip Garage - https://www.youtube.com/user/jaymz03ss This guy is from Minnesota and has a great dry sense of humor. Most of his videos are buying old cars that haven't run in multiple decades sight unseen off the internet. He shows up with a toolbox and a few spare items and tries to make the thing drive away from the seller's (usually) field. Kind of like some of the road kill episodes but more of one man show and less silly hi-jinks.

My own channel has steadily been growing in subscribers and views. In addition to the longer episodes I launched a shorter second series called "In the Paddock" to showcase some of the cool cars I see being driven hard at the events I attend.

      Here was the first video

Andrew Borodin turned me on to This Old Tony. Not car-related, but machinist-related. Turning, milling, welding, etc. Lots of cool fabrication, and well made videos.

When I saw the topic I knew I had to put This Old Tony on the list (but JP beat me to it).

Also enjoying B is for Build, AvE, and The Fab Forums.

I’m a GM guy personally but Foxcast Media is pretty cool.

They do a lot of neat work with Coyote swapped Fox Body Mustangs.

Grind Hard Plumbing Co is super hot right now and they are doing fun stuff with clever fab work.

B is For Build is always a good one.

Street Bandito is usually pretty good especially on his how-to style vids for Carbon Fiber.

And never forget Rob Dahm. Regular guy that is learning as he goes building some great rotary power cars.

I guess I'll jump in with my list:

      Bad Obsession Motorsports
      https://www.youtube.com/user/badobsessionmsport/videos
I always watch their videos twice. You always miss some of the humour the first time.

      Sampson Boat Company
      https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg-...7nmphUA/videos
Yeah, I know. It's a boat. But the guy is building something and the craftsmanship is impeccable.

      Acorn to Arabella
      https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAi...uuUo0VA/videos
Another boat. This time it's two guys and a dog using wood from the family property.

      The Fabrication Series
      https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcx...kzZ2Jlg/videos
He has forgotten more about fabrication than I'll ever know.

      Fireball Tool
      https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVv...nRhxJmg/videos
103 mph. go cart belt sander that eats other belt sanders. 'Nuff said.

      Schwartz Performance

I don't think these guys need an introduction.

Lucky's Garage Show (Lucky Costa from Hot Rod Garage show and Overhaulin' a long time ago). Fun project updates a few times per week, including some great videos showing common fabrication repairs and some things that no one else would think of making a video of that have been helpful. Works on customer car projects as well as his own personal car/truck projects that fit this space.

Allison Customs Project Car TV (Jeff Allison) Very extensive video documentation of Jerem's 66 Chevelle build (has pro-touring.com thread here as well) which is one of the most extreme GM A-Body PT builds I've seen yet (top 5 for sure). Lots of great custom fab work and cool stuff.

Both seem like really nice guys and put out helpful tips for us DIY'ers.

This is pretty cool. It's just a used car lot that specialize in classic/vintage cars.
Look for the videos titled "Test Drive".
Kinda fun "driving" some cool cars, even if it's a virtual test drive.

      LOL

I thought she was OK when she did her own videos. Now she is doing commentary over existing videos and they are terrible. Maybe with COVID-19 she isn't traveling and can't make new content.

I've enjoyed watching vlogs from Donut Media. I found the videos informative as they include history of the car.
I would recommend that you check out Mighty Car Mods for modification ideas. The duos surely knows how to put humor in the videos so that viewers won't find it boring.
