**New Price: $26.5k - 1975 Trans Am 462 5 speed MT Red on Red

EDIT: new price, and added in some information about the age of the paint and gear ratios.

      1975 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
      New Price: $26,500
Car is located in Ojai, CA (93022)

Numbers matching, resto mod Trans Am. 3,000 miles since complete engine rebuild by Kauffman (480 HP / 540 TQ), new ridetech suspension and Wilwood brakes, and new American Powertrain 5 speed manual transmission.

A/C, sound insulation, and a 5-speed for cruising, and coilovers and 4 wheel disc brakes for canyon carving and autocross.

You can't exactly call a red T/A a sleeper, but we chose 17" Rally II replica wheels, hid the stereo, kept the stock interior and dash, and painted the motor in the original color to keep everything looking stock.

Mechanically it's a 9.5/10. I would say the body is a 7/10 (some stone chips, some of the fits aren't perfect). No rust or body issues. I've owned the car about 12 years, and I got in touch with the 2nd owner, who had painted it a couple years prior, so paint is about 14 years old. It wasn't a body-off or a glass-out paint job. The paint is pretty decent, with no real orange peal but a couple of minor flaws. The glass is just ok - some minor scratches on the door glass from warn out guides (one of the first things I replaced), and the window trim is a bit dull and spotted.

      Partial build list:

Kauffman rebuilt numbers matching motor (stroked to 462, zero decked and balanced)
      Kauffman D-Port heads
TKO 600 5 Speed Manual transmission from American Powertrain
      (ratios: 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1:1, .64)
Science Friction Clutch and pressure plate
      New wiring harness
      Retrosound Bluetooth Head Unit
Sound insulation in floors and doors
      Custom Stereo (Focal)
      Vintage Air air conditioning
      Griffin 4 row Aluminum Radiator
      MSD 6A Digital Ignition
      Holley EFI
      Pro-Touring F-Body 800 steering box
ridetech stage 2 coil overs, with new upper and lower control arms
      Ridetech front sway bar
      Wilwood 4 wheel disc
      17" Year One Rally II Wheels 17 x 9
      Falken RT615K 275/40 R17 tires
Refurbished Dash Bezel by Randy Combs
Rebuilt 10 bolt rear (3:08 gears)
New Upper and Lower door pads
      New Fuel Lines
      New Brake Lines
      Global West Frame Connectors

Comes with the original Rally II wheels, Super T-10 transmission, and original 5c heads if you ever wanted to put it back to stock.

I'll even throw in a Kiss Destroyer 8-track.

Nice T/A! I think the Kiss Destroyer 8 Track should seal the Deal!

Right?! It's a classic. I draw that line at my Rush Hemispheres 8 track though - that one stays.

Lots of interest but still for sale. I've turned down a couple of offers the low and mid-twenties, but I'm open to hearing reasonable offers. PM me if you're interested, or post questions here.

Do you have smog where you are in CA? Wondering if it will pass a smog test.

      Love the car btw

Great question. The car is smog exempt in CA. Everything 1975 and older (ie. including the 1975 model year) doesn't need to be smog tested.

Editing to lower the price, and add in some answers to the common questions I've been getting, like the condition of the paint and the gear ratios of the TKO600.

Oh perfect. For some reason I thought it was 1974 as the cutoff. Thanks

Did Kauffman dyno your engine when they built it? Very cool car with nice upgrades and parts!

Thanks! Yes they did. It made 540 lb-ft @ 4500 and 480 hp @ 5300 on their engine dyno. More importantly, it makes over 512 lb-ft from 3400 where their dyno starts recording, so it's making a ton of torque down low.

Not really interested in trades. I’m trying to slim down the fleet a little. Thanks for asking tho.

Love this car. Are '70-73 bumpers a direct swap?
