oil sensor?

i have an autometer electrical oil guage, and im confused as to where the sensor/sending unit mounts. any help. thanks

I was just working on this - mounted mine behind the distributor right next to where the trans mounts up (big block, not sure if small block is different).

is there a port there? i'll have to look in the morning.

I put mine (small block) on the port by the distributer. I had a little trouble clearing the intake and distributor though (that sender is kinda big) and I had to use a little brass extension fitting to get it positioned right. Works great though.

update - I may use the port low on the driver's side of the block in the front. Depends on which one fits better - I'll probably have to drop the engine back in the car with the headers so I can check the clearance.
