5th Gen Camaro Center Console in 2nd Gen Firebird

I have seen a couple threads on this, and I know it will fit. My question is are people cutting off the mounting bracket towards the rear of the tunnel to drop the armrest or are people just using that bracket to mount too? It seems that it may sit a bit high but with no carpet in it is hard to tell. Can anybody who has done one of these show the front and rear mount solution you used? Thanks
