Was only thinking about going with the 18"/19" combo because I'm going to get some different wheels and want to go as wide as possible in the rear. But I'm thinking i'll stay with the 18's.
I agree Andrew's recommendation would look great. Maybe see if you can fit 9s on the front and 10s on the rear with that setup.

On my F-body, I plan to stagger the tire diameter as well (the rear arches on a '68 are larger than front) The 245/40 front and 275/40 on the rear (18s all around) are 1" difference in diameter. I've seen similar combos and it looks great.

I too considered the idea of staggering rims myself when I first decided to change wheels (245/45R17 and 275/40R18). Besides the unsprung weight issue Andrew mentioned if you stagger rims, there's also an aesthetic affect. Usually rear discs are smaller than front (since more braking bias is on the front). So if the wheel is very open design, having the larger rear wheel combined with the smaller rear rotor makes the difference compared to the front more obvious. Might not bother some, but once I realized that, I couldn't get past it.

Yeah it's close to the sidewalk. That's why it looks that way. Here's a different angle without bright sunlight. The key for me was having a tall enough tire so it looks correct. Skinny low profile sidewalls or too short of a tire will draw too much attention to the set up.Name: 20190713_071827.jpeg

Nothing wrong with an 18/19 combo, at all. Nothing wrong with a 19/20 combo, either. Just depends on your personal preference. 1968-72 Chevelles/El Caminos have very large fenderwells, especially 70-72's.

That's a great looking Grand Am dude. Love that it is different from all the normal camaro/chevelles. Nothing wrong with those but I love different.

That Pontiac is awesome! Cool to see someone tackle a big '70's car, and done well.
