I've never heard of tail panel codes other than sheet metal codes

I have a supposed nos that I bought awhile back. I just figured that there would be some kind of stamping on it since all other panels are stamped to make sure the die is making full compression. I had a guy on another forum tell me that some nos panels are not stamped with anything. If that's the case is there anyway to tell an aftermarket from original? I've looked online and it says that fenders, quarters, hoods and so on are all stamped, but can find no mention of tail panel.
