      GMPP Connect and Cruise Vintage Air AC wiring question

      Working on a 1978 Firebird LS3 project with the GMPP harness. I have the Vintage Air setup along with trinity switch I am putting in with an r4 compressor. I got the compressor as part of a kit a guy used for mounting but never ran. The guy I bought it from seems to have wired a capacitor between the two wires in the AC connector as pictured. Is there a reason for this? Should I be keeping this in conjunction with the trinity switch or should I ditch it. Any help is always appreciated. Name:  A89D9494-8440-42F8-BDA0-0BC3D5382FFA.jpg

      That's not a capacitor it's a diode. Most likely it was placed there to protect against back EMF generated from a motor. So I assume that connector goes to a motor??

      Looks like he was trying to suppress inductive spikes generated by the clutch. No harm leaving it there imho...
