CPP 1st Gen front subframe notch

Anyone read about their Camaro in the latest issue of Super Chevy? They've developed a kit to notch the front subframe and be able to run a 315 front tire. Seems like a pretty cool alternative to purchasing a complete aftermarket subframe.

Says it's not available yet, but I've emailed them to find out a little more info about it. Hope it's available soon!

They had their 1st Gen test car in Columbus last weekend with 315 tires on the front. Two different drivers, Canaan & Wes D.

I got a response back from CPP today and it's not ready to be released yet as they're still fine tuning the design. I signed up for their news letter so hopefully they'll be informing everyone once it's available.

Yeah I read that but the event took place in 2018, I was hoping there would be some info on it.

I guess if it were available, we'd hear about it from multiple sources.

My car goes to the fabricator this fall and would like to have this installed if I can. Seems like a good alternative to buying an $8k subframe!

It’ll take more than those notches to make a factory subframe comparable to a good aftermarket frame.

Do the inner fenders need to be modified?

Oh I know, I'm just looking to fit a wider tire up front and I know the stock subframe limits you on that.

From the pictures and the video I watched on line interviewing the owner, it all fits under stock sheet metal...

Yeah, I inquired again a few months ago. They scrapped the idea.

Did they give any idea as to why they scrapped it?

I just tried looking for the email, but my trash folder only goes back so far. I don't remember there being an explanation. I would have liked to see pictures of what they did and how. After adding up the cost of control arms, sway bars, steering box, coil overs, etc, I just went with a DSE subframe.

There is a thread here somewhere from several years ago where someone notched the stock subframe.

Not much meat left there for the steering box to attach to. Interesting idea though.

Saw this that camaro asema last yr.
I didn't like that upper coilover mount,
The frame notch can be done by a person with good fab and welding skills.

I'm off on a tangent here, but......
What are the lever-spring-cable mechanisms for? I'm looking at the centre of the front, just above the front cross member. There seems to be a similar cable beside the coil over. Do they have something to do with the remote shock reservoir?

as someone said it is the berserker shocks from Viking they use a ride level sensor and the shock reads it and a pitch and yaw sensor at each wheel to determine the shocks needed response to the road surface and cars attitude, I have run those shocks for about 3 or 4 years here was one of my tests session with some new tweaks to the system

Late to the game on the pictures but these are ones I saved of a members frame. He notched his frame years before CPP.
