Hmm. Its kind of hard to explain. The ucas are made for a mustang. The only difference between the stangs and torinos are mounting bolt locations. The kmember and spindles are actually made to use a strut type set up. The aje spindle adapter just mated all the components together. I was able to adjust the uca as short as possible but at ride height it still had positve camber. Its all ripped out now. Shock towers cut out and adding some c notches to the front. Right now what im trying to accomplish is the entire front suspension and front axle can be a complete drop out with the removal of minimal bots (8 front cradle/axle/suspension 6 drive shaft and 1 bolt steering) kind of like the rear axle.

Started putting together the front axle and suspension. Im pretty sure between the IRS rear, transfer case, front axle and turbos this will be over 4000 lbs. Oh well.Name: 20191110_190359~2.jpeg

Some tiny progress this week. Swapped out the sn95 mustang spindles for the 14 taurus sho spindles. A big plus for the brakes were the 14 inch rotors. I had my doubts on whether my 18 inch rocket wheels would clear the caliper. I had about an inch or so of space left. Aluminum spindles and 14 inch brakes were definitely a plus for the awd conversion and it fills the wheels in so well.Name: 20191210_220152~2.jpeg

At the other end of the spectrum, i bought a $170 plasma cutter from Wal-Mart online. I was very shaky even with a strait edge. I havent used one in so long i felt like an idiot when i started cutting. But it all works out incthe end. This is the front c notch im cutting out.Name: 20191211_185512_HDR~2.jpeg

Once you worked out the kinks did you find that the inexpensive plasma cutter was any good? Or simply a “rough-in” type of tool?

Nice, I’d call it a win for $175.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing all of your creative fab work. Keep the pics coming!

Thanks TanMan, found out on the 12th were moving across country on an extremely short time schedule. I spent about 28 hours straight puting her back together so she can go on the trailer. Name: 20191220_185728~3.jpeg

It's been soo long since I got to read up on on PT. The only thing I got done since December was move the Cobra in the garage. The cross country move rusted every piece of exposed metal I had on it. So now im just waiting for covid-19 to lift so I can get it dustleas blasted. Name: 20200426_214246~2.jpeg

Man, this sucks! I know you didn't have time to coat everything before you had to move. What's the plan for removing all the rust from virtually every surface now?

I was going to wait till the stay at home order lifted so I could get it dustless blasted but I got bored and started hitting it with an orbital sander, fine tooth wire wheel and some rust disolver. (Not sure if the dissolver is actually working). The combo seems to work, and since we're stuck at home I figured I'd try to take it as far as I can (the whole body).Name: 20200427_195703.jpeg

Got the bug to cut and weld the last couple days. Fully boxed in the front c notches. Tomorrow I will remount the front crossmember, differential and suspension to mock up some mounting brackets.Name: 20200522_224538~2.jpeg

Got quarantined this past weekend, I even tested negative for covid and they still won't let me return to work. Here's three days of work in the garage! This engine bay is going to be soo tight I'm regretting going with turbos. Name: IMG_20210208_210142.jpg

Man this thing is awesome! I’d totally missed this build till now.

Is that sarcasm that the engine bay will be tight?? Looks pretty empty to me!

      Keep up the good work.
