Anyone have tubular control arms hit inner fenders ?

Just installed the front fenders on my 69 Camaro with speedtech pro touring subframe.

I have not set the car on the ground yet but the drivers side upper control arm is rubbing the inner fender. Passenger side lots of clearance.

Wondering if this is common or not.

I have to measure.... looks good by eye and the bolts for the subframe were very tight and don't think theres any room for movement.

My drivers side hit. Stock frame though, Global West UCA's. Just had to trim a little no big deal really.

My Hotchkis arms that I just installed fit with tons of room to spare like the stock ones.

I see in your other thread that you think your engine sits too far forward. Engine too far forward and looks like control arm is too far forward. I think you have something else going on.

Measure the wheelbase. Should be 108 inches. If its longer, there's your problem.

After 12 years of building and selling and installing these sub frames you would be the first person to bring up this issue that i know about. Not pointing fingers or bashing just letting you know. i would start by checking the measurements to ensure it is in the correct location. If the inner fenders are aftermarket there could be some variance there as well.
You also mentioned the engine location we have designed new adapter plates that allow you to move the engine BACK in the sub frame to get ti close to the firewall. We have those in stock
hope that helps you can always call as well we are here to help and answer questions

After remeasuring and reinstalling the drivetrain with the adapter plates Blake mentioned, and putting the fenders back on I found plenty of room available at the control arms. The passenger side is a little less than this picture. I have 2 different brands of aftermarket fenders with the original 50 year old inner fenders. That is where I assume the difference is on my car.Name: thumbnail camaro 9.jpg
