What a guy... Did anyone else notice the two comfortable chairs that were pointed toward the LT-4 engine? Yep, just sit there and admire! LOL Really, great job so far on the car.

Looking good, both cars will be awesome to have! I followed that Firebird build on Lat G for quite some time, very cool stuff going on with it as well.

Thanks Don, I learned from the best ;)

Making head way.. got the interior ripped out, not for some patching in the driver foot area, tubs, removing spare tire bump and the big one, filling the firewall..Im dropping body on frame, to make sure engine clear mock up of firewall and cut out 6 speed hole. I also have to build the vintage air brackets..

About 12 years ago I put a vintage air compac unit in my el camino. I made my block off panel buldge out a bit for more room inside, rather than curve back with the firewall. Cut most of the glovebox pocket out, but was able to leave enough to hold papers in. A shop gave me 2 defrost duct parts from I think a late 60's /early 70's mopar prefit kit that were a good size to the g-body dash defrost openings. I used round billet specialties ac ducts in custom dash, but most use pvc or abs water pipe fittings to connect aftermarket hoses to stock ducts.

How long ago did you get that tank? Ricks didn't have any available when I was looking and didn't have any interest in making any more. Did you get corner pickups with it?

I ordered a Ricks Tank from Hector for my GN just a month ago. Should be here soon. No mention of not wanting to build it...

Excited to see the direction you go with the firewall!

I bought my Vintage Air from Arizona GN, not a big fan of how his delete plate looks, but at least it comes with the brackets to mount the whole system under the dash.

Any visual improvements you can create for the delete plate under the hood will be awesome!

I agree, no one makes a cool panel, the AZ GN guys have a concept, but they built it for practical purpose, I really like DSE panels, so Im going for that look. First problem is it needs to be raised off the angle that it sits.. Im sure this is gonna be a pain in the ass, but Im gonna do it..

Was gonna get a pic of my cover, but too much stuff in front of it. Mine has very little angle to the face of it, top surface angles out , then down.
For a baseline, here's pics of what you're trying to be different from.

One suggestion would be to do a neat component layout to the outside of all that empty area , which would make components easily accessible & look businesslike. Similar to the one in this article.

Started swapping the rusted out spots.. and got the car on the frame, needed to measure the firewall clearance from motor, and get opening for tranny. Will pull body back off next weekend and start the cutting and modding tranny tunnel and get firewall done, will need to test fit the Vintage air too
