      Kindig-It paint seminar

Attended the Kindig-It paint seminar over the weekend. I highly recommend this course to anyone who paints or is planning to paint their project. Bryce the body shop manager and Freddy the head painter worked hard to cover every step from prep to sealing to base to clear including how to make repairs. Gun setup and spray technique were also covered. There was a lot of hand on spraying in the two booths. The amount of work that went into preparing this class was amazing. Bryce and Freddy are great guys and were happy to answer everyone’s questions and to share their techniques and tips.

I’m a self taught backyard hack and have always wanted to learn from someone who paints for a living. Taking a class in a high end custom shop was the ultimate for me.

An added bonus was being able to wander around the shop and check out all the projects. Great things going on there. Dave even dropped by Sunday afternoon to say hello.

Wow that sounds like a great time. Did they charge for the weekend? Fall of 2017 till late spring of 2018 I did all the body work and sanding on my C10 project under the supervision of a local body shop in their shop. I've never done any body work before. I learned so much. First lesson was "keep sanding". The shop sprayed the paint, color sanding and buffing. They didn't trust my low skill level. I drove them crazy with all the questions.
Once I got to know some of the guys they were great about helping me do the best I could. I think because I showed up every day ready to work. ( I'm recently retired). In return I've helped them with a customers LS swap that was a bit over their customers head or theirs but they were doing the body on his car. I would spend the money on a plane ticket to do a weekend like that.

Yes they charge. I think we went through several thousand dollars of materials plus their time etc. Worth every penny imho.

How did you find out about this seminar? I don't see anything on their website.

I watch Dave's show when it's on here in Jonesboro. I don't know what their work looks like in real life, but it looks to me like they do one heck of a job. I'd like to do this too.

I am not a big social media user but I do follow several builders, painters and metal shapers on Instagram.

$500 for the class would be worth every penny. Now me going to an airport to get on a plane to go there, that likely won't happen. Road trip from fla, Hmmm.

I have seen some of the cars you have painted, you are the furthest thing I have seen from a backyard back.
