T-56 install in a 1980 Firebird - Change from Auto to Standard!

      Hi guys,
It has been awhile since I have been on this site as a member. I used to be, but I have forgotten all my old information.

I now have a 1980 Firebird Formula in great shape.
It has a 383 stroker - SBC motor in it.
Right now it has a built up 3 speed TH350 in it. But it has to go … I feel the need to shift gears again.

I was wondering if you all could help me with this?
I have done my homework, and have read countless articles pertaining this including posts on this site.

      Parts that I have:

      LT1 T56 from a 1993 to 1997 firebird/camaro.
      shifter attached to the T-56
Hydraulic slave cylinder that came with the transmission. (need mount)

Parts that I plan to buy:

Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch P/N: 700107
      Centerforce Flywheel P/N: DF039020
Pedal assembly brake/clutch - Auto Metal Direct P/N: 106-w-328 (Jegs)
Driveshaft - plan to cut and balance.

I do need everything else, so help here would be MUCH appreciated!

I'm not sure which T-56 transmission mount is the best/economical?
I've looked at G-Force P/N: RCF2L-T56 - but I do not have a local dealer who sells is Fairly priced as I am in Ontario, Canada.

I plan on starting this build this week …. so please feel free to message me directly, or on this post!
      Thanks in advance!!

Double check the flywheel for the 383. Most 383s are external balance.
Some of the flywheels are tapped for adding weights to the correct balance, this would work also.

I am not sure about how it is balanced. I just assumed that it was balanced internally.
The motor came in the car, and was a build about 10 -15 years ago. GM 350 that was built up.

you'll also have to see what bell housing your going to use. I used a Lakewood on my 383 and had to buy a 1/2" thick adapter. in doing so you will have to take the input shaft out of the LT series trans and replace it with the LS input which is 1/2" longer to make up the difference of the spacer. It's possible, ask me how I know....

I have doubled checked on the bell housing. I have a stock bell housing attached to the t-56 from a 93-97 LT1 Firebird/Camaro. That will bolt right up to my first generation small block without any issues I believe.
I am just trying to source everything out now, and plan on doing the swap in the next couple of weekends.

Do my parts list look ok?
