      VA/CAA Install Question

When you install an aftermarket AC system in a first gen Camaro, do you generally block off the vents in the kick panels? I’m doing my sound deadened and insulation at the same time, and it seems like it would best to cover the openings with MLV. But on the other hand, I think it would also be nice to be able to open the vents to let in fresh air.

I originally bought a set of screaming performance kick panels but now I am switching to The Shop, LLC ones. I switched to the aftermarket ones because I wanted a better speaker option. Both of those brands I mentioned come with a “cup” that blocks the fresh air inlet.

I put speakers in my kick panels a long time ago and haven't missed the fresh air vents. Even in my daily driver, I always run the A/C with the vents closed (there's no such thing as "fresh air" in Southern California anyway).

Thanks, everyone. I think I’m going to block off the vents. I’m not one to run with the windows down or vents open very often.

I've never had one of these cars with factory air. Were the kick panels different if the car had AC from the factory?

My VA kit came with fresh air block off plates. I just thought that was part of the deal
