Order the parts well before when you need them. It can take several months if they are not in stock.

These are cool. Have you look at twisted machine paddles? I ended up using the twisted machine paddle with little hookup on Speartech wiring harness.

like C&R. But here are the reasons i went with the AutoRad setup.

      1. The core support they build has a larger core surface area. This along with the fact that it is all aluminum
will dissipate heat better that the heat transfer to the stock steel support.

      2. The fit and finish for the end look I'm going for just looks better than a stock core support for a Pro-touring car.

      Attachment 160953

      3. They offer the entire package in a black powder coat finish. One less step during the build for me to worry about.

      4. Duel 14" fans. These will be set up to come on at different temperatures, 185/195

Here is a breakdown of what they are doing:

69 Camaro Rad/Core Support with Recovery Bottle
LT4 Motor - Hose Conn on Pass Side, RS SPEC
      Sub-Frame Hideaway Headlights

      Dual Fans/Shro... Dual Fans/Shroud (two 14" fans)

Filler Panels Filler Panels (2 upper panels & latch cover)

      AC Condenser

Trans Cooler - Internal - High Performance

      External Engine Oil Cooler

      Inter-cooler - Air to Water

      Auto Rad Radiator Cap

Dual Fan Control Dakota Digital Dual Programmable Fan Controller
      ( two - 70 amp Relays)

      Black Matte Powder Coating all

I will let you know what I think once I get it
Jim does great work! I have the complete setup mount on the DSE sub frame and the fit and look was great. I live close to his shop and Jim change my fan shroud so I could mount a OEM fan to work with the ECM pwm output. Great product.

So the car is loaded up and will go out to be stripped of all paint and rust. It's about a 12-14 week lead time:-(

In the meantime, the shop will be empty for about a week until the SPEC chassis and LT4 show up. THE LT4 and Transmission are in transit. May even have it by Friday.

I'm going to do a good cleanup on the shop and make room for the new Tig welder and Plasma cutter that are also coming next week.

Fit and finish of Chevelle stuff isnt as good as the Camaro stuff , very easy to deal with , time frame can be all over the board , one time they're on time another they can be off by 2-3 months

Well today is a big day. The connect & cruise lt4 with the 8-speed package was delivered and now I'm headed out to pick up the spec chassis. Kind of nice getting them both in one day. The connect and cruise package came in great shape and great packaging. I didn't get a chance to uncrate the motor before I left to go pick up the chassis. But the transmission came in a nice hard plastic reusable shipping container.

Picked up the SPEC chassis today! Crate was well made. The chassis looks awesome. The attention to detail seems to be spot on. Once I get it uncrated I will go through the details for what was included, such as paperwork, instructions and so on.

So I'm impressed so far with the quality of the Roadster Shop SPEC chassis. They included a very nice instruction book and packet detailing the assembly and torque specifications for everything. It also has detailed charts for setting up the suspension based on multiple parameters to get the camber settings spot on. I was also impressed how they include multiple 3D drawings showing how each transmission / engine combination would affect the transmission tunnel and where modifications needed to be made. This is very helpful and saves fabrication time.

So I dropped the chassis off to be powder coated last week and will pick it up tomorrow. Hopefully it turns out as good as I hope it will.

So the stock LT4 oil pan fits the SPEC chassis with the exception of the oil cooler connection on the driver's side. Because of this I installed the Holly oil pan. It fits great, but there are a few problems it presents. 1st the Oil return line won't fit, so I will need to figure out a solution. 2nd, the factory oil dip stick doesn't work with the Holly oil pan, another think I will need to ask about. And 3rd, the oil cooler line connections are not included in the design of the Holly oil pan, another issue to figure out.
