      Firewall passthrough?

      Just curious how you ran your harness, and what did you use if you ran it into the passenger compartment.



      Pics of your wire hiding/routing would be awesome!

      I've used the daystar grommet for the firewall pass thru. More cost effective is making a trip to the local salvage yard and collect a bunch of various grommets from wrecked cars. Firewall grommets and door grommets of all shapes and sizes. I bought a bunch for $10.

      There is a split grommet that gets riveted into place that summit sells for about $30. I’ll have to dig up the name, but it worked pretty well. It allows for a big enough hole to route connectors and closes back up to a reasonable harness diameter.

      I have a 67 camaro. The main body harness is going through the factory location by the steering column, but im at a loss for what to do about the engine harness for the fitech system. Im up for any ideas.

      I have the seals-it, works pretty well. It's about the only game in town to pass through giant connectors.

      Anybody run the ecm in the engine compartment? How did you hide the wiring? Im just trying to get ideas/options. A passthrough would clean it up quite a bit, but im curious about running it in the engine bay as well.

      Thanks to the idwas so far. Ive considered the seals it, but havent seen the connectors.

      I'm going to use the ones in the link below. They're about the 8th item down the page. They're the most affordable bulkhead and make engine removal easier. You use regular wire terminal crimpers so that makes them more affordable.

      What harness for FITECH ? I was planning that as a future upgrade, But I am all out of under dash space !
      But Also to your point--> I added spade connectors to empty slots of the bulkhead connector to add some of my engine area wiring.

      An inexpensive item that makes a nice firewall grommet is a gladhand gasket used for semi truck. They're cheap and can pass a 2/0 cable through the hole.

      I use Mil spec MS3470 connectors - Large bulkhead connectors I use the 32 pin style - Smaller ones I use for things like wiper motors and what not.

      downside is the cost

      Yeah - that for sure is a kick in the junk. I actually got mine at a yard sale for $10 since no one knew what it was used for.
