      Hurst Dual Gate + 4L60E?

Looking at several engine+trans options for my 1980 Trans Am. Leaning towards an LS swap but I sure would love to install a Hurst Dual Gate shifter. I suppose I could mix old and new school with the LS motor and TH400 or even a 700R4 but I’m more likely going with a 4l60e. I read 1 post where a guy claims he did this but can’t find any others or details.

Can an anyone confirm whether this is even possible with the 4l60e or 4l80e?

      Appreciate the help.

Have you talked to Hurst? They would be the one to call. There are one for both applications.

Hurst stopped making that shifter years ago. I'm not sure there ever was a 4 speed version. Maybe.

I used one with a 4L65E. It’s been a while but I think I got the conversion kit from Shiftworks.

I looked into doing this exact swap. The best combination was to purchase the dual gate hurst shifter for the 3rd gen camaro then retrofit the 2nd gen upper shift plate. I ended up swapping out the automatic for a 6 speed manual so I never did the conversion. Good luck.
