      Ridetech Control Arm Question

From what I understand, ridetech recommends +5 degrees caster for street driven vehicles.

My question is: Is it possible to get more than +5 degrees from the ridetech StrongArms?

      thank you !

get it aligned and see, every car is different, between the upper A-arm mounts and lowers that are separate welded components of the frame no one can tell.

If you have the newer style arms with the caster slugs you can probably get more than 5 out of it by doing max caster plugs and adding shims. But as stated above you need to get it aligned to see what you've got to work with. Every car is different, and likely you won't be able to get the same max number on each side. On my Chevelle the passenger side was able to get a lot more caster than the driver, so we aligned it accordingly.

5 to 6 deg is plenty for a street car IMO

You could either get SPC arms with the adjustable length or order some custom made ones from Coleman (they are pretty inexpensive, about $60) to gain more caster.

some may argue but SPCs are a PITA and not worth the money, one adjuster always loosens and one of the bushings on each arm twists and wears out faster.
Have you checked to see what Colman will charge to make custom arms? not $60 and the ones off the shelf are not a direct fit.

Sorry, you are right, the custom offset ones are an extra $20. And I have not done this, but I have seen it. Assuming he is running a tall spindle, they'll work, the will just rest against the frame (like the SPC's) when the car is jacked up since they are flat.

On a street car, we recommend that you shoot for 3° to 5°.

Depending on the car (some frames just won't allow it), it is possible to get more than the 5°. We have more aggressive caster slugs but typically use those in more performance oriented setups.

      Thanks,
