      1968 Mustang Coupe

My project is a 1968 Coupe with Rod & Custom coilover front and rear suspension power will be a 390 and a C-6.

This is what i started with

It had a lot of rust in the floor pans that we had to fix first

Stripped to bare metal than epoxy primed

Hey man - I'd love to come take a look at that. I'm also doing a 68 coupe. I've just sold another car so I'm planning on starting work this weekend. There's some rust in mine though - the cowl it toast and a lot of patchwork :(

We added subframe connectors and did a little bodywork than epoxy primed again and sprayed SPI bedliner.

Rod & Custom rear crossmembers were welded in

      You are welcome anytime.

At this time the Coupe is not at the shop. We are working on a 1963 427 Galaxie and a 1964 427 Custom (base model Galaxie).

Looking great. My son has a rusty '68 Mustang coupe also..maybe this will motivate him to keep at it. Please post more pics as you progress. Thanks.

I showed pictures of the completed suspension I thought I would show the start of the Rod & Custom coilover rear suspension. We had one of the early kits. The kit is a bolt in but we decided to weld the crossmembers in.

I bonded the Shelby conv end caps on and at one time was going to use the deluxe taillight panel.

Looks awesome! Are those the final wheels or are you planning on going with something more meaty? Looks like you have some room to fit some bigger meats on that back.

At the time the photo was taken it still had the 8" rear now it has a 9" from a 63 Galaxie and the track is wider. If I change the rims I will go wider with more backspace.

Body work finished on the fender aprons and firewall. I filled in the cowl vent.
