T56 magnum with ctsv bellhousing oil pump question

I have a t56 mag and I am using the ctsv/zl1 bellhousing in order to except the twin disc clutch/slave, I dont plan on using the built in oil pump, do i need to remove the pump from housing or can i just cap the inlet/outlet off and leave it in?

      Thanks
      Bill

      Bill,
You can cap the ports and it will be fine. There is a built in oil bypass right next to where the pump is located. It should have a little "blow off" valve that relieves any excess pressure that gets built up. This is a standard feature in case the pump is pushing more fluid than the cooling system can flow at a given RPM, or if you were to experience a blockage in the line.
