      2nd Gen Camaros

Has there ever been a 2nd Gen Camaro thread, with lots of photos? I did a search and haven't found much. My older brother is building a pretty decent 1980 Z/28 and I want to send him pics of restomod or protouring 2nd Gens. So far, it's been pretty slim pickings.

Clint, not sure if you're on Lat-G but there are a few 2nd gen builds going on over there now.

Don't forget to check out NastyZ28 also. I think that will be your best bet for build pics of 2nd gens.

I have a build going on right now. You can find it if you look for 78 Camaro Type PT. I'm behind on my updates but I'll fix that before long.

Not sure if you're aware...but 2nd gen Firebirds are essentially identical structurally speaking.

Not sure how far down the rabbit hole you're trying to go.

For a complete rebuild; there's my thread: https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/127202-76-Trans-Am

Also. Detroitspeed's website has their project build threads available. Over 200 photos per car. I think there are over 4 2nd gen 'Maro builds up; complete with HD photos.

I would also look in the Pro Touring sites like Nasty Z-28 Lateral G. And or look up "1978-81 Pro Touring Camaros" there are a variety of sites to look at. Or some of the Car Magazines of that era Such as Hot Rod and Car Craft.

      Nastyz28 is not a Pro-touring site....
It is strictly a 2nd gen Camaro site...mostly old school

A few members like myself did pro-touring builds

Are you looking for any 2nd gen or later 2nd gens?

Here are two of the better known (early) second gen Camaros in the pro-touring world. Most of the build process is still relevant to the later 2nd gen cars.

      Mary Pozzi's 1973 Camaro:

      https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/...ht=1973+Camaro

      Brian Hobaugh's 1973 Camaro:

When using the search function, try entering a year and then the car model or trim level (Camaro, Z28, Firebird, Trans Am, Formula, etc) and you'll be more likely to find build threads. People aren't going to name their build thread something generic like "2nd gen build thread", but rather something more specific like, "79 Trans Am project." I won't get started on car project naming schemes.
