      71 Formula build

Just thought I would start a build thread on my project on this site.

The full thread is over at lateral g under 71-Formula Brewster Green build but I wanted to get it over here as well and will update as we move forward. All input and comments are welcome.

The car was purchased new by my Dad as a gift for my Mom in 1973 and other than for some poor decisions on rims and interior through the years remained a stock Formula 400. The goal of the build is to retain something that has sentimental value and to bring it up to modern standards so that it can be enjoyed and driven

overview of the build as currently planned:

body: delete marker lights, add kindig bar door handles, fessler glass kit
      engine: LS 376 / 480
      Suspension: DSE Subframe and quadralink
wheels: Budnik Matrix or potentially something from Forgeline

Looks like an awesome project! I'll have to check out your other thread. Are you going to paint it Brewster, or the original '71 color (Laurentian I think)?

I'm 3+ years into my 70 Formula build. After a couple extended lulls, I'm getting back on track. I too am painting mine the factory color (carousel red). I was just as Fesler the other day discussing seats and saw a glass kit going into a 1st get car, and am now giving it some serious thought. Do you already have the kit?

I’m going to paint it Brewster. I just don’t like the Laurentian color

As for the glass kit. Yes. I have it already. Should be nice. Really makes the car i think.

Nice. The small back window birds are so sharp and this one looks extra sharp.

Nice project, love the no rear spoiler. Did you send those original wheels back to 1988 where they came from? Lol

Cool build especially with the family history. I really like these second gen Pontiacs.
