4th Gen Camaro Radiator Install - 69 Camaro

      Hi guys,

I know several people have installed 4th gen LS1 (or LT1) style radiators in their 67-69 Camaros. My question is how are you mounting them?

It seems easy enough to make L brackets to support the bottom of the radiator, but I'm not sure how to secure the top. One thing I thought of was cutting out the core support to accept the tabs/clips on the radiator.

If anyone has any pictures of their install, that would help a lot!

      Thanks in advanced!

That’s a really nice setup! I’m assuming you fabricated your own brackets to mount to the core support?

Hey, cheers, I put a bit of work into it.
Yeah, they are pretty simple sheet metal pieces. If you don't have OTR, you could use top of rad support and bolt threw.
You cant beat GM factory parts, easy to replace and designed to work in a dessert. Cant go wrong, way better value than any aftermarket gear.
I bought new radiator and got the GM fans from a wrecker off a low mileage car. Good for 100K miles easy.

And I just used the G8 radiator hoses, couldn't get any easier, all keep on shelf at any good parts store.

That is a very sanitary cooling system install!

Very clean, tell us more about the air box/intake. Is that something you made, or for sale?

Just curious... would the 4th Gen Radiator work with a non-Ls power plant? Would it work with a SBC or BBC?

Very Impressive, beautiful work. Was there a technical or aesthetic reason you moved the radiator back off the core support?

It allows the cold air intake to draw air from in front of the top of the radiator. Quite clever.

A happy accident was it keeps a very consistent temp, I think its because the whole radiator is exposed to cool air, rather than being up against the core support that blocks the outside edges of the core.

You wouldn't happen to have a brand for that radiator/fan setup would you? I see them ranging from $150 to $400+ for just a radiator. Which one did you go with?
