I took a break from sanding for a bit and made a cold air intake. With the battery relocated to the trunk, there is a perfect place for an air box.

Finally, I'm spraying some color. This is Urekem "Scarlet Fever" two stage pearl. I was going to go with a true candy but I chickened out, afraid I would ruin it. I'm extremely happy with this color though.
I upgraded my Harbor Freight gun to a 3M Accuspray 2.0. The results are a lot better than my Mustang and cleaning the gun is incredibly easy.

I tried to get a picture of the mirror out in the sun but it was kind of cloudy.

I've looked at that recess with the same thought myself. Good work.

Love the color! Looks close to what I want on my mustang. Can't wait to see it in the sun.

Looks great. From my experience, don’t drive yourself crazy trying to get the hood and trunk lid trim to line up perfectly. From the factory it didn’t line up perfect. The fitment between fender extensions and hood / trunk lid isn’t the greatest either . I’m talking about the flat area on these pieces that the trim covers . You’ll see what I mean. Keep up the nice work.

I've worked all weekend fitting the body panels and I'm excited to finally have a few beauty shots to post. Before mounting the fenders, I had to make a splash shield for the front. pretty simple piece.

I also had to mount the power antenna.

3 years ago, I picked up this rusty shell of a car. It has been transformed. A lot of the interior is already done so this should move along pretty quickly now.

The body matched rear bumper with the trim removed just looks so good on the rear.

      Thanks everyone.
It's a whole lot of red right now but there will be stainless trim around the windshield, rear glass and side windows that will bring it all together. Langleylad, everything was going great with body panels until I had to install the front bumper. Because of the linear actuators on the headlight doors, I couldn't install the bumper normally. If the bumper was installed before the headlight buckets, the buckets wouldn't fit. If the buckets were installed before the bumper, the bumper bolts couldn't be accessed. I fought with that most of the weekend. I ended up sort of installing all of it simultaneously. Doing all of that without scratching anything was the biggest challenge.

"Mess to Modern" A 67 Cougar Project

I feel your pain . That’s the thing about hot rodding, one mod can affect so much . That’s one thing that I try to keep in mind in a build. How many times have you gone to remove a hose clamp and the screw end is where you can’t reach ? lol . You’ll figure it out.

I finished wiring my headlights tonight. The halos are so bright, it's hard to get a good picture of them.
Had to use a real camera with manual shutter settings.

Lights look sharp. What did you use? Are they bolt in, or did you have to modify?
