      David,
I am actually working on a design/ sizing for a double DIN this week, since I have had a few people ask about it
      Is your car a 67-68?

      Thanks, Jeff

I want to order one. I'd like to see how the double din comes out to see if I want to invest in a new head unit.

It's a 68. I already bought the smooth delete panel to attempt myself but who knows when I'll get around to it. Plan on running vintage air controls.

I will keep you guys posted on double DIN mock up, big issue is covering the lower section of ash tray hole, where it rolls under dash and have it look good

      Thanks, Jeff

I gotta anvil carbon center dash cover on the way, it's a blank one, I will need to cut opening for center vent and heater controls (dse adapter) in my case
Rest is still blank and covers the ashtray, there might be enough room to
Have a opening for a 2din. Will have to wait till I have it in my hands.

See, I don't care about the ashtray. It will be deleted with the new panel. But because of it, I'll have all the room from the VA controls down. Or I can mount the VA controls in the ashtray area and have all the room going up.

      Working on design now
As you all know, issue is lower most opening ( bottom of ashtray hole) to make look correct and not a huge fabrication job with rolling lower section of bezel, etc?
      Open for suggestions?
Thinking of having same outer bezel width at bottom, but maybe a separate piece ( as a block off) for lower ashtray opening, wich is hard to see when seated in car, especially with a console installed as well

Is trimming needed if the radio section of the dash has not been molested?

Yes, the height of hole is 2 7/8” ( mesaured from upper horizontal dash structure, down , to line to trim) yhe upper dash structure remains intact
The width of hole is 8” ( centered)
Slight trimming on sides ( factory round holes for stock radio shafts) to clear side theeaded mounting bosses , that are part of the mount
I made up a “ install sheet” with diagram, dimensions and instructions

      Thanks
      Jeff
