      New build Vettehawk

Ok, here is the new thread for my current build. I will be using a 1989 C4 corvette chassis, and putting a 1977 Buick Skyhawk body, with a Dekon Phase 2 wide body kit. For power, I am building a 427 LS, using a LSA block with darton sleeves, Mast Black Label LS3 cylinder heads, Comp Cams solid roller lifters, and shaft mount rocker arms. Of coarse Holley Dominator ECU, thinking a 4L80E transmission with Jakes engine brake valve body which will be paddle shifted. Trying to build the ultimate Road Car, cruising, Autocross, and Drive and Drag events.

A Buick Skyhawk. Pretty sure I've never seen one of those before lol.

      Neat build!

Is the Skyhawk the Buick version of a Monza?

It's most likely you have and dismissed it as a Monza

Yes, there was also a Pontiac(Sunbird) and Olds(Starfire) versions as well.

The Sunbird notchback. I always thought one of these would make a nice 2-seater with a V8 under the hood and it was a shame Buick only did the hatchback. Unfortunately GM's small car division was not friends with either rustproofing or quality in the 1970s so there just aren't too many of these left. Looking forward to seeing how well this comes out, but if you haven't bought the Corvette bits yet (suspect you have since you specified the year) I think a C5/6 with a rear mounted trans would work really well in such a conversion.

A friend had a Skyhawk when I was in college. It had a V6 which was a sawed off V8 that shook like crazy at idle because it was not balanced. Nice little car other than that. White with maroon interior.

Cool project! Buddy had a V-8 4 speed Monza back in the 1980's. Unfortunately, it was a smogged 262 (or maybe 267) that couldn't get out of its own way.

I am looking forward to this. I have made many sketches and have reviewed how to do this. I've always wanted a Dekon Monza tribute car. The C4 frame/suspension option is a great way to go.

      Have you measured the outside
width of the C4 frame to see if it will fit inside the rockers of the Firehawk?

Disregard my last comment. I watched your video. It answered many questions that I have had. Thanks for documenting your build so well.
