First EFI Swap - How Is the Fuel Pump Wired?
I'm working on an LS swap for my 69 camaro. I was planning to get my new Tanks Inc tank installed this weekend, but I realized I'm not sure how the pump will get wired up. I haven't put the engine in yet so I don't know where the relay panel will be.
I know the pump has to have power and ground, and I'm guessing this generally goes through an ECM controlled relay. My car has a trunk mounted battery, so will I put the fuel pump relay in the trunk? Should I just plan to run the power wire from the front of the car to the tank? I'm probably over thinking this, but wanted to get a plan before I start drilling more holes in my car to run the wires.
Also, it looks like the pump that came with the Tanks Inc. tank will draw a max of 17 A, so I'm planning to run a 12 AWG wire to the pump unless someone suggests a larger wire (looks like a 14 is good for somewhere between 15 and 20 A, so a 12 should give me some margin).
Thanks in advance!

The ecu will controll the relay. Wire your pump ground to the frame and of course make sure the ground is good not only at the fuel pump ground location but also the battery ground to the frame and so on. I ground mine to the frame. The 12 AWG is fine and you will run that to your fuel relay. You can put the relay where you see best.
