Vaporworks Installation into a GM A Body (1970 Buick Skylark)

To everyone here that shares how they pull off the cool stuff they do, to make their old cars work properly...THANK YOU!
And thanks to Carl at vaporworx for giving me the confidence to go thru with this part of the project on my own. It saved me some huge bucks.

      1) Removed the tank (20 gallon) from the car.
      2) Had it boiled out at the local radiator shop.
      3) Picked out a location for the pump module that allowed me to keep the factory FLS. (This location put the inlet barb really close to the centerline of the tank.)
      4) Fab'd up the sheetmetal tray and TIG welded the Retaining Ring to the underside of the tray. (Orientation of the ring is critical)
      5) Placed the finished tray in the chosen location and traced around it with a Sharpie.
      6) Drilled 4 holes in each corner, just inside of the trace marks. and cut out the opening with a jigsaw.
      7) Used a pneumatic angle grinder to finish up the fit of the tray.
      8) Thoroughly cleaned out all of the metal chips and filings from the inside of the tank.
      9) TIG welded the tray assembly to the tank.
      10) Taught myself how to solder (youtube vids) and repaired the crack in the filler neck.
      11) Painted the tray area of the tank.
      12) Installed the pump and the factory FLS.

      Thanks again to everyone here,
      Chris

      Nicely done Chris!

If the outlet needs to be clocked just a bit different, feel free to trim the alignment tab on the pump hat. Once the cam ring is set the pump is going nowhere.

      Thanks for the kind words.

      Thanks again Carl,
I got it clocked right the first time...but only because I read your work instructions about 15 times.
