      ZL1 Brakes

So I am going to start the build on my 69 Camaro, I wanted to put ZL1 Brakes all the way around on it. Can someone tell me if they have done this and if so what did they use as far as spindles and brackets.

I believe I found it on Google. It seems to be relatively cheap for the brackets. Looks like you can do everything for under 2000

I used lsxconcepts.com, they also have this setup, you will also need large wheels! I have the standard SS brembos and I have less than 1/4" gap between caliper and the inside of my 18" wheels

I planned on using 18 inch wheels, is that big enough?

The ZL1 rotor is .4" larger than the SS rotor, so the 18 inch wheels may not clear, especially since Jim says he only has .25" clearance. It will depend on the wheel and how it is made.

I may upgrade in the future if it will fit, But I'm skeptical at this point, these are boze 18" with big brake clearance.

Looks like I will have to place a call to Forgeline and ask before I commit.

SS brembos are nice and I believe fit 18 inch wheels. Should mount the same as zl1s I just swapped mine.. On the street it feels the same.

This is a noble cause. Please let us know how it goes. Anyone have pics of the ZL1 brakes? Do they say Camaro?

The ZL1 calipers are black with ZL1 on them and Brembo below that. Picture here: http://www.chevyhardcore.com/tech-st...-track-camaro/

To anyone running the SS/CTS-V brakes. What brand and bore size master are you running. Thanks
