      908/3 Go Kart

I had a client approach me with this idea of building a scaled down 60s or 70s race car. After, some back and forth we settled on the famous Porsche 903/8. I used a Shadow Kart Chassis with a Predator 212 motor coupled to a Torq-A-Verter to start out. As with all of my projects, large or small, we start with a rendering. I use those drawings to cut parts on the plasma table, help scale details and provide an over all road map of the build. The usual tools are employed to make this project, bead roller, CNC plasma and an assortment of dollies, hammers and basic tools. You could do this with out those tools, but it would make it much more difficult. I'll post pics as this project wraps up!

      Enjoy!

I finally got the clear down on this kart and helmet. I laid down after it got hot in the shop but I'll end up wet sanding to make it really smooth I think. I ordered more snaps to reinstall in the helmet since I removed the original, rivet in type. The last step is to send everything off to get powder coated

Here's the helmet finally assembled, the chrome edging is glued back on and remained hardware is installed. Also, we did some matching chairs, because, why the heck not? Once the parts are back from powder coat we should be able to get it assembled rather quickly and hopefully get some great shots of it before it heads off to it's new home!
