I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason also; it amazing you are doing so well on this build while also dealing with the cancer and related surgeries.
Car looks awesome. You have some great friends helping you on this.

Wow, lots of great progress! Paint work is so time consuming, but so satisfying when it's done.

Oddly enough, I usually don't like red either. I usually prefer blue/silver but I think my R6 Red 69 Charger (that was totaled) warmed me up to red. Red is so hard though. So many reds have a lot of orange in them, which I don't like.

I approve - I as well am usually not a fan of red but that deep red looks amazing on that body - I don't know what your plans are but the factory hood treatment in Organisol and the white side pinstripes would really set it off (personal opinion) --

I caught a lot of crap for staying white on my 68 Charger - Sorry to see the pics of your old beast - broke my heart

Is that R5 again, or some other color? It's gorgeous. I used to have a Hyundai Genesis Coupe in Tsukuba Red that was only slightly more orange than that, I think. I have an '89 S-10 that will need paint someday. It is red (with a green bed, lol) now, and I'd like to change it, but that is a pretty red.

Thanks! As cool as that Charger was, it was meant to be and worth the sacrifice. Besides, I couldn't modify it and I'm really not a stock guy!

And I've always loved the wheels (and color) on your 68 Charger. If you ever decide to change it up on the wheels, let me know!

The 6.1L engine and TR6060 transmission are mated and on the RMS K frame. The engine is a 50K mile factory built short block. I added an Arrington cam shaft and CNC ported heads. The intake manifold has also been ported. From the factory it was rated at 425hp. It should comfortably make 500hp.

Thanks! I'm really felling very good. Just need to keep working on the range.

Rear suspension is loaded! The axles are from DSS and they slipped right in.
