      Looking for some advice here...

I’m hung up on what pedals to use. I’m currently stock automatic, swapping to LS/Tko 500. I need to figure out what pedal setup I want to run. I know wilwood makes a pedal set, plus a few other race inspired brands, but I’m not sure I want to go quite that “full race car” on it. Considering a stock setup but all I’m finding out there is rusty junk for $200. The accelerator will be drive by wire, so I’m gonna stock with the included assembly for that. Might swap the pedal out to something more old school looking.

Anyone have any thoughts? Know of any fool proof setups? Thanks in advance!

      Looks awesome!
Can you let me know what the gauge model numbers are? Did they fit into the original spot right out of the box?

They are the Moal Bomber Series from Classic Instruments. 2 1/8" programmable gauges. Meaning they light up red based on programmable settings (ie: low oil pressure, fuel etc.) These have the curved glass lens. They fit right in the stock location, but there is a tiiiiiiiny gap around the gauge, barely noticeable, but it was bugging me so I added the trim rings (not shown in that pic) to cover the gap, and it looks sweet. I'll post a pic when i get home.

They look great. The engine looks right at home in there , it'll fool a lot of people into thinking it's a small block.

Hey guys... I need some help with my Power Steering situation. I'm running a stock 6.0L Lq4 p/s pump, connected to my pre-LS swap saginaw 500 box. I recently blew a line off, and then started doing some research.

Sounds like the LS pumps put out anywhere from 1250-1450 PSI, which I've read is far more than my saginaw box needs. I read about folks using restrictive fittings to lower the psi, but have yet to find anything definitive.

Can anyone chime in here? What is the proper PSI that a saginaw 500 box needs to operate, If I'm exceeding that with my LS pump, what's the best way to remedy that? I do know the steering feels SUPER light and twitchy, seriously 1 finger steering...

On top of that, I'm using Summit compression AN fittings and rubber hose reinforced with braided steel. After the blowout I experienced I'm convinced I'll need a higher pressure hose and fittings.

The only hose I know of rated for this type of pump that you can make yourself is aeroquip AQP
The hose ends are stainless steel. This hose is rated to 1750 psi and it is not hard to build yourself. Ends are also reusable.
Not cheap stuff. I wouldn’t use anything else.

Thanks guys. I'll get a length of that stuff. I should only need it for the high pressure side right? or better to just do both lines while I'm at it?

Also need to make sure the fittings all match.

Finally got it dyno tuned! I decided on a drivetrain back in march, 2018, and I am finally able to realize the awesome potential this car has to offer. 18 months of spec'ing, buying, waiting and building... and it is finally ready to play!

Had it tuned by Jason Portillo at Precision Auto Services in San Bruno. Jason is an amazing tuner. Unreal skills, and such a good dude on top of that. The car made 387 HP and 369 TQ at the wheels, or approx 450hp 430tq at the crank if you use the 15% drivetrain loss calc. I am very pleased with those numbers. Its a stock bottom end LQ4 with cam, valvetrain, intake and injectors. Considering the lq4 is rated at 300hp stock thats a pretty amazing increase! Overall I'm thrilled with how the car runs, drives, sounds and how much usable power it has. Can't wait to get it out on the track for some Auto-x and a few passes down the drag strip!

Probably won't be a big hit here with the pro-touring crowd, but I bolted up a set of Drag Radials on steelies for runs to the local Wednesday Night Drags at Sonoma Raceway. I think it looks pretty bitchin!
