      Moser 9" assembly Lube?

Hey all, I'm a noob here, and have a pretty noob type question. I've searched and searched but found no concrete answers.

I have a brand new Moser 9" rear straight from their warehouse, complete 3rd member with True Trac and axles all ready to be put together. The third is already assembled, just needs to be installed in the housing. Bearings are already pressed on the axles, just need to be installed. Here's my question...

To lube or not to lube? The gears in the 3rd are pretty dry. The bearings on the axles are too. Do I need to lube up these items prior to install or just allow the gear oil to properly lube everything once installed? if yes, any special type? I've got some lithium based, as we'll as the good old red n tacky.

This seems like such as simple question, but this is my first time building a rear end, and with high $ parts i don't want to screw it all up with a simple mistake.

My inclination is a light coat of grease on all gear surfaces, but after reading about the TrueTrac posi and how particular it is on gear oil type and non synth, non LS additives, in don't want to add anything in there that will mess it up.

Thanks in advance, and any other helpful tips from anyone who has installed/built one of these would be greatly welcomed and appreciated!

No grease needed. Just fill with whatever gear lube was recommended and enjoy.

Yup. There is generally a break in period for gears for about 500 miles, but that's it.
