That is some great work you all are doing, and that is quite the stout parts list there! That should be a great car and even better story when it's all said and done!

It looks like the engine build is coming along well! It great to see all the skills that your students are getting to learn firsthand. They seem like a sharp group of kids!

we installed the DSE firewall delete and decided to move the wiper motor and to reshape the transmission tunnel opening to make it flow a little nicer. This was pictures of us using some round bar to get the shape. was a little off in this picture. We ended up putting the new camshaft, timing chain and gears, reinstalled the oil pump/pickup, new rear main seal, and getting ready to finish up on the short block soon

We have been busy but due to me coaching highschool softball at school and school vacation been a little slow on updates. We have the sub-frame painted and have the Ride tech coilovers installed with the muscle bar and they look great. We also have the rear air bar installed. The engine Has been mocked up and fits nice. The picture of the underside of the car isnt mine but it looks just like it since we have painted the complete bottom of the car and the interior floor also. For the front brakes i am reusing the factory front drum hubs and machining them. I bought a set of ctsv calipers from a 05 that i bought for another project but going to use them since i have them. Still need to save up for 5th gen camaro rotors and custom rear axles. Currently my wife is 8 months pregnant with our first child(Baby Boy) so i am tryng to get as much done before the baby is born.
Was pretty excited when one of my students Bought me a Mint sweatshirt. There is a group of guys on youtube called Haggered Garage. They love watching there channel and i compare it to a Roadkill garage. They always were their gear and they thought it was cool if i sport some of the gear too. Great Kids!

It has been a little bit of time since last posted but been have still been working on the car but took the summer off of it with school out. My wife and have a new healthy son and had a very busy summer being a new dad. We have installed a complete Fi-Tech setup on the engine and have the engine all back together. Have not fired it up but did have the students install the flywheel and clutch setup on it today. One of my students did bring his 68 Chevelle in and we pulled the heads and the camshaft and redoing his chevy 350. I had extra heads kicking around and an old edelbrock intake. We have been spending the last few months tring to get his chevelle road worthy and safe. will get some pictures up soon.

This is a really cool thread, so far it looks very similar to the direction my build will be going in (Im currently in the early stages of my build). Hopefully I am half as handy as some of these kids.

Finally getting back to work!! Have had some amazing life changes with having a little one running around. He loves being in the shop and loves all the machines. We make time after school every wends to get work done on parts for the nova or thier own cars. We ended running into some issues when i went to weld the 9inch ends on the 8.8 and found the tube was bent up pretty good. We are going to straighten it out on Wednesday and hopefully get it back in the car soon. Hoping to have a roller by march. I had to bring the car back to my house and not keep it at the school due to my old boss retired and my new boss is a new boss. I am bringing in pieces so we work on those. Looking at wheels and really like the weld s77 but rocket wheels might be more in the budget.
