      Plate is done!

Happy with the results. I will try to get the bag mount plates, and top plate welded in this weekend.

It's amazing how a simple plate can change the looks of something.

Bottom side plates set on top to check alignment with radius of old spring retaining area.

All welded in from the top! Now the bags have a nice flat circle to rest on under the shelf.

Lincoln TIG200 set at 120 Amps. I am doing this build in a single car area of our 3 bay garage. It's tiny with my shelving, bench, welder etc... But it's working.

Not exactly #weldporn but I will take it.

Top plate set back on, back put in place, alignment looks great!

      Modeled the fuel tank tonight.

It ended up being 25.5 gallons.

It will sit between the frame rails, and have a decorative lip on the front edge that matches the contours of the bag plate on the frame. It will also have a Jakefab Fuel Puck in it of course. : )

Love what your doing. I am betting you’ll be getting some orders of the parts you make.

      CAUTION!!!!

      GEEK ZONE AHEAD!

Alright, so if anyone (Probably not) has followed my Charger build over at dodgecharger.com then you know I love messing with tech. I junkyard fuel injected that car three years ago, and there is so much you can do to these new cars with little money. Looking at the Vic parts i have, I just must mess with them!

Enter Fords EVO/VAPS steering rack system. EVO (Electronic Variable Orifice) is a system that is on the old Crown Vic racks that varies the pump flow based on speed. The ECU sends a pulse width to the EVO solenoid based on speed. So at low speeds like in a parking lot, you have full pump pressure for ease of steering. As speed increases, the EVO closes and reduces pressure to tighten up the steering.

      This is awesome!

But all I have is the rack with EVO solinoid.....

And 4 unused ABS VR sensors!

So, I am going to try and feed a VR AC Signal into a generator to DC Pulsewidth and into the EVO valve. If it works, as the truck increases speed, the steering should tighten up. If I want to take it one step further, I plan to use an Arduino to command an offset via push button on the dash.

TLDR: I want to have a push button variable steering resistance control that is speed self governing.

Here is a look at sorta the idea I am working with from my Charger project.

VR Signal being fed into an MS3X and spun with hand drill.

      Analog signal of toothed wheel.

Digital signal being processed by MS3X

Awesome. I like your approach. It's nice to have knowledge of analog/digital electronics.

Was out of town for a while, but back on the project!!!

Front shockwaves came in. They look awesome! I am very interested in where full bump is set on these.

I pushed the chassis out to do some cleaning in the bay. This is at full bump. Wheels and tires installed. I love how it looks! Lots of Negative Camber at full bump on this setup. It squares up very fast as you lift it off the stops.

Mocked up the fuel cell out of cardboard. I am going to kick the back edge down to break up the 90deg to give it some more style. right now it's 17.5 gallons.

I am trying to keep the sloshing fuel between the wheels and not out behind them. So far, I think it's going to work well.

Duel Jakefab fuel pucks will run two pumps to feed the engine.

Did a little work on the back deck. I had to cut some small plates to fill the lowered body mounts at the corners. Welded it up, and started the metal shaping. This will give me a nice flat area to weld the plate to!

Also got the first article for the lower control arms off the machine!

      These things are massive!

I will post more about them when I get the full run.

just a question here, why don't you try using the Ford EPAS set up? the full electric rack?

      Hmm...

Got a rack that might work well? Are the new Mustangs EPAS?

      Cheers!

If i understand you correctly, you are building the tank yourself? Add baffles to keep the fuel from sloshing around. Just a thought...

      absolutely.

It will have a V baffle system in the middle with some swing doors.

yup the epas racks, i have a couple laying around. i also have the bracket to adapt the epas rack to a 2003+ vic front end. also have the Tie Rods to make it work. you should play around with it. its a great steering system.

Got some part numbers, or a link for purchase? I am interested for sure!

Nice control arms. Maybe some day I'll have to grab a set for my f100 swap. Why only lowers?
