      Focus on fuel consumption

After driving 2 times on highway at 70 and 80 mph, i ve tried to optimize fuel consumption and reach some interesting numbers

With an average of 13.4 to 16.5mpg in 6th gear is pretty good, I think I will not be able to have better values instead of going on a dyno. Photo below fuel consumption in L/100km and vss1 in kph

Hello everyone, yesterday I had 3 gifts for chritmass

1st I finally found the famous reason why there was a boost leak somewhere, the dumpvalve was stucked in the open position...

2nd gift it works so well now that the overboost protection has been activated after having recorded more than 30psi of boost, direct ignition cut-off after a peak of 44 psi of boost. So I lowered the boost duty to stay below 30 psi.

3rd gift following that I tell myself go back home we will not tempt the devil, a last acceleration that I did not log and BOUM my T56 stage 2 died, fortunately the 4th gear survived which allowed me to return home.

I think that during this last acceleration, I made over 1300hp pretty easily, too much for this gearbox which is rated at 1200hp+.

Just disassemble to see exactly what has broken and see with the manufacturer what can be done to get a stronger one

      And Merry Christmas to all!

Finally removed the transmission, now I know I had too much torque, the input shaft and the 1st gear of the countershaft are dead, the other gears have survived.

Awaiting for an answer from Bowler transmission, so I will modify the torque arm crossmember cause I had to cut it to remove my transmission and I ll add a safety loop.

      Thx Jason !

Removable safety loop finished and painted, I ve lowered it a bit to have about 1inch of clearance at the nearest point of the driveshaft.

This week I order a new set of gear from PPG. Rated at 1250ft/lbs, I can't even imagine what is the breaking point of these gears, knowing that stock t56 magnum gears are rated at 700 ftlbs and we know now that breaking point is around 1100ft/lbs

Next step is to buikd a removable torque arm crossmember

Next step : rebuilding the T56 with the new PPG gear set, change the 550lbs front coil over springs by 650lbs springs and change the clutch discs

YEEEESSS !!!!! PPG gear set received, can't wait to install all. Now I know why this set is stronger, everything is thicker, gears are thicker, countershaft is 1/4" thicker than the stock one and the steel used is stronger.
