      New welder for me

Well I took the plunge finally on a welder. I know most people will not agree with my choice. I picked up a Eastwood 250 MIG. They normally run $899.99, but eastwood was having a sale and also had an open box in stock. We opened up the box while I was at the store and sure enough it had never been fired up before. Everything was still wrapped in the plastic. Ended up getting it for $615. I figured almost $300 off, why not give it a try. I live 20 minutes from the eastwood store so no worries there. If I ever have a problem they will switch it out. Just thought I would share on my new purchase.

I bought the 175 mig and plasma cutter as a package for 799 4 years ago. Both have worked great for what I do.

I believe the consumables for welder are the same as Lincoln electric.

I have a Hobart Handler 140 and its great, reasonably priced at any Tractor Supply for around $475.00
Ive used it for everything from sheet metal too roll cages. Unless you need to weld heavy duty thick steel it will be good for most projects.

First time using it. There is much to learn. When I was running the bead my helmet was broken. So I was holding the helmet with my left hand and the mig in the right hand and nothing to rest my hand on. So much more to learn, but this is fun.
