electric vs mechanical pump, or booster...

Running a first gen Camaro with a 427 LS @ 620hp, was thinking an electric pump would help to cool engine down quickly between rounds but heard they are not as good during sustained high speed running? Maybe an electric booster pump along with a mechanical pump would cool better under all conditions?

If I went with a booster pump would it still circulate through the mechanical pump ok with the engine not running?

Car isn't finished yet so easier to do now.

Has anyone used the AFCO twin pass radiators, how would it compare to a C&R of equal size?

A good radiator, fan(s), coolant, and lower temp thermostat are all you need. Mechanical water pumps are typically recommended over electric in the pro touring world.

On the Street I prefer a mechanical pump with a clutch fan..Chevrolet put a lot of money into engineering those systems to work worry free for miles.Plus if you do break a belt .It is a lot easier to have a spare set in the car.And or find one at an auto parts store, than some specialty set of electric fans.

Thanks guys! So not worth the trouble of installing a booster pump - even to just cool down between rounds? You know, a couple of years ago there was only a few "good" radiators - now there is too many to choose from! I've heard nothing but good reviews about C&R although pricey. Any recommendations?
