69 Mustang build / Newbie from England

Hi everybody. Thought I'd sign up and say hi. I live in the UK and last week, bought myself a '69 Mach 1 Mustang from Texas. Found it on RacingJunk. It's a part restored drag car, body, Art Morrison frame and cage and a 429 and C6 box from a 69 Thunderbird. There's some skinny / fat drag wheels and not a lot else. Its currently sitting at the shipping office in Houston awaiting a ship next month. I should have it here in England before June!

Today, I bought a brand new Coyote and T56, plus all the trimmings off a guy who was going to install it in a Land Rover! But didn't.

I've not actually seen any of the above yet!

So I'm getting very excited and looking forward to sharing the inevitable trials and tribulations of my first real build with you guys. From my lurking here, I can see there's a lot of knowledge that I'm probably going to tap into.

      Wish me luck...

      Welcome!

I can't wait for pictures, I've got a 1970 Mach 1 that will be a project in the future, so I look forwards to seeing what you do to yours!

Thanks for the welcome. Just started checking your Chevelle thread Nelson. Nice!

I have quite definite plans for my car. I've been between Mustangs for some time so have had time to decide what I want. But I know from experience, things don't always go to plan, so am prepared to make adjustments to the dream as and where neccessary. I've made two already!

First is the body style. I always wanted a 69, but it was going to be a coupe. Then a fastback came up at the right price....

Second is the motor. I was intending to work with whatever came with the car. So for a week I was thinking old school cool. Then along comes a Coyote at the right price...

Anyway, here's what I thought it was going to look like when finished:

Congrats on the new purchase and the well bought driveline. That rendering makes me want to build a 69 coupe right now! I'm sure just as nasty in a Fastback. Looking forward to following.
