So I have a few small updates for this week. I received my Sparco seats and my ridetech Tigercage. I mocked up the seats in the car for fun with the harnesses. If anyone else is looking at these seats, they won't fit in the Firebird with the factory console (they probably will in a Camaro). My LS7 from Texas Speed should come late next week. I'll probably tear the car down on Sunday in preparation.

Getting crazier on this one. I'm just bummed to see that nice Pontiac engine getting ditched for LS. Seems as though an aftermarket aluminum Pontiac could've fit the budget on this one.

how much room between the seat and the roof do you have? I have to cut my floor and drop my drivers position (possibly) to fit my Sabelt seat

From the top of the seat to the headliner there is 5". From the bottom of the seat to the headliner there is just under 36". Mine is installed on slider rails, I originally put it in without them and there was about another 1.5" of room.

Hi Cole, I am in need of original bucket seat tracks for our 69 Firebird, are your originals available ? Not sure if you used them with your new seats. Please let me know when you have a free moment via PM. Thank You very much. Tim john---

I called DSE, asked same question based on the 12' inch wheels I was installing and referred to the picture of the 69 mini tubbed on their site. They came back with 8.1...

Some big updates this week. I spent all week installing a 4-post and a 2-post lift (it was torture). But my LS7 finally came!!! My Anvil Auto carbon firewall cover also came. Next week I hope to have the old subframe out and the new one in and have the engine in and running.

      What could be inside?

I haven't finished it yet. I can tell you that the quality of the sub frame is really good but that's about it as of now.

Finally reviving this thread! With being away at school for the past few years, and modifying my newer cars, it has been next to impossible to make any progress. I'm finally making a commitment to regularly work on it and hopefully have it wrapped up mid 2020.

I finished all the sheet metal work (mini-tubs and speedtech frame stiffener) earlier this spring, but I hadn't been able to mover forwards until now. Last weekend I went through and seam sealed the entire car and Lizard Skinned the underside using their sound deadener and thermal compounds. It turned out way better than expected.

This weekend I should be able to finish up the firewall, paint it, and Lizard Skin the inner floor. Once that's done I should be able to get the subframe and rear suspension in for good, and finally have a roller.

Made a ton of progress last weekend. I body worked the firewall and hit it with some cheap Duplicolor ready-to-spray paint. For it being the first time I've painted using a gun, it turned out pretty great. But most importantly, I got the subframe and rear end in, hopefully for good. It's the first time I've had the car a roller in over 3 years, so to see so much progress happen in one weekend makes me pretty excited.

I ordered a Setrab 50 row oil cooler and an Accusump so plumbing the oil system is my project for next weekend. In theory I have all the parts needed to make it run now.

Lots of work done over the last couple weekends. I managed to get a decent portion of the wiring done to the point that the engine cranks over, installed Membrane mat, got my oil cooler installed, and measured for rims. 305s all the way around!!! Just a few more weekends away from starting up. I'm at the point now where most of the big time intensive projects are done, so it's going much quicker.
