'68 Mustang Trunk and Interior Sheet Metal

Here's a project I'm working on for a customer right now. He wanted to clean up some of the inside of his car with something a bit different. I just thought I'd share with you guys in case anyone was looking for a neat way to tidy up a trunk area other than carpet or upholstery. I'll add more pictures as this comes to a close.

      Matt

That's really cool. Love the rear-seat delete kit. Looks a lot cooler than the fiberglass pieces I have planned for my car.

Wish you were closer so I could have you make a set for my 65.

I could make templates of these and send you some to trim and fit for your car.

I think the 68 is quite a bit wider than a 65. I'll take a couple measurements from some key points in my car and will PM you.

If you were to get that fiberglass piece to fit well we could use that to take templates off of.

Here's the parts with the black patina solution applied, cleared and installed. The customer is super jazzed about the way they came out.

      Looks amazing, really cool work!

Any plans to make the trunk as a kit or templates?

I'm sure I could borrow the car again and make another set if someone was serious.

Not to be "that guy" but this is clearly a 65/66.

Well thanks for being "that guy" it wasn't really about what car it was but the work being done. Thanks for the valuable input though.

Very nice work! Would you mind sharing the process for making these? Bead roller or hammer forming? Secret "patina" sauce? I you'd rather not I completely understand:-)

Sure! I used my Mitler Bros. Bead Roller with 1/8" offset dies and a Mag Brake to bend the edges. The rest of it is just lay out and the "design" you're going
for. I can answer any specific questions you'd like but the absolute basics are just the dies and brake work. You can get super crazy with those two things and end up with something really creative.
