      Core support clearance ??

Is there any sort of minimum clearance between the radiator and the core support ?? I'm getting ready to make some brackets to mount my radiator and was just curious.

Depending on how stiff your mounting cushions are, an 1/8 to 1/4" should be plenty of clearance between the radiator and any metal. I've seen quite a few cars at shows that will mount radiators without isolating them and always cringe. Will you be using an Aluminum Radiator? If so, another thing to watch for is to not make any grounding connections thru the radiator, which can also happen with contact of any surrounding sheet metal. This will create galvanic corrosion due to the coolant acting as an electrolyte. Here's a well written article on the effects of it.

Just saw this. Thanks for the feedback. So insulating the radiator from the core support with the rubber cushions should prevent any grounding issues.

Correct. There was also an article in Hot Rod about 2 years ago covering an overheating issue and also commented on grounding issues through the radiator. If I come across it, I'll let you know.
