1985 Monte Carlo SS
I am starting with a clean low mileage SS.
Attachment 181962
After reading LanceSS’ build thread and talking to him I think I have a pretty good idea of how I want to start. This is going to be a street car with good manners and be a capable auto cross car, I want to do the Hot Rod Power Tour and we have a local Auto Cross racing series that I want to join.
I want to do all of the work I can myself. Dune to being on a small budgets at a time and not getting discouraged with the build I want to do what I can over the winters and have it back driving in the spring. I have built other cars and motorcycles in the past and they started with great intentions but towards the end I would get in a hurry and Skip doing some of the stuff I wanted to do so when I was done I wasn’t happy with the way it turned out and after a short time I would sell it.
I am going to try and make this exactly what I also want to do it right the first time.
If anyone sees something that I should do different please let me know!
Let the fun begin
Heading to the sand blaster then boxing and stiffening. Then powder coating.
I am planning on using UMI suspension components, 9 inch rearend and the sway bar suggestions from Lance. Thank y’all in advance for your help and suggestions!!
