      Holley Performance Products Acquires MSD Group

      Though some may be aware of the recent changes at MSD, we wanted to share this official press release from Holley last week. Here it explains the details of the merge along with future plans for MSD. (Just in case anyone was interested):





      Holley Performance Products is pleased to announce the acquisition of the El Paso, TX based MSD Group. The MSD Group includes iconic brands such as MSD, Mr. Gasket, Accel, Superchips, Edge, Racepak, Mallory, Hays, QuickTime and Lakewood. “We are excited to have the opportunity to combine the awesome legacies of these companies. The combination of these brands will provide our customers with the most complete offering of performance products in the industry,” said Holley President & CEO, Tom Tomlinson. “We are aggressively developing innovative new products at Holley and we’re going to continue to build upon the fine job the MSD Group is already doing with new products.”

      Holley is a leader in the performance automotive aftermarket with products powering race cars and high-performance vehicles found the world over.

      “Our goal is to offer solutions to automotive enthusiasts so they can achieve their goals in the pursuit of their automotive passions. We look forward to working with the MSD Group team including Russell Stephens at MSD, Dave Martinez at Powerteq, and Tim Anderson at Racepak to marry our technologies and talents to build these solutions,” said Tomlinson.

      I wonder how this will effect competing products from Holley and MSD, specifically EFI systems from Holley and Atomic.
