Is it possible to replace an oilless compressor motor with one requiring oil,

I have a big enough tank, but i'm tired of the oil less noise, so was thinking could I save the tank and install a oil required compressor motor in place of the oil less compressor motor?

To replace my entire unit I'm looking at maybe $700ish dollars, to replace the motor the head of it with a model that requires oil would cost under $200.00

Just wondering if it's do able.

      Thanks

Contact them. My Cambel Hausfield was on it's last leg. I got a pump from Poler air. And it has supplied air to paint 2 cars andshop tools for 3 years so far.

I know my compressor uses a oil type pump. But they can give you some info on if your motor is up to the task. You may have to modify the mounting pad and buy a new pulley.

Most oil less are direct drive.
Since I have HF 2 doors down from work they have several oiled compressors. I also am looking at trying to make a direct drive motor run belt drive oil unit.

Best bet would be to buy a second compressor, and tie them together because then you will have extra tank storage, however that is not the cheapest route and may be overkill for what you are doing..
