Are Toyo Proxes R888 Legal tires for the USCA

Does anyone know if the Toyo Proxes R888 Tires are legal for the USCA Events? They are listed as DOT Street legal buy the compound is Enhanced R Compound.

Unfortunately no, 200TW rule makes them illegal since IIRC the Toyos have a 40 or 100TW. Whats weird is I would bet they wear BETTER than some of the 200TW offerings out there.

When I was in Texas at the optima event, I heard that Falken will be coming out with some super gumball tires some time in the future. I wonder if the new BFG Rival S will be in the gumball tire category with a treadwear of 200?

If you want a TOYO for USCA it would be the R1R.You can use the R888 at road course track events and at your local SCCA event in the Street Prepared catagories.I heard the larger R888 are cheaper then 200 tread wear offerings.I'm running a TOYO RR at SCCA SOLO events.Hoosier A7 would be the winning tire for me.I just went cheap.


Bridgstone RE-71 is the hot 200 at the moment..Then the Hankook RS3..RIVAL S are becoming available New Falken people are expecting those soon.

I needed a 275/40ZR17 tire so I ordered the Toyo R1R 200 wear I'm really looking forward to getting it. Its new as of December of last year.
