      Cam for ls3

Hey guys is there a cam out there for ans ls3 or any ls engine for that matter that doesnt make the engine sound like its surging? Or is that the norm for fuel injected computer controlled engines?

Yes. The surging is all on the timing

I am not a fan of that sound. There are plenty of LS3 cams that don't sound like that. My buddy used the BTR Stage 2 LS3 cam and it idles very smoothly.

My stage 2 tsp cam sounds great. Doesn’t sound like that corvette.

I’ve used cams from Geoff at EPS. They don’t have the radical lobes that most others do but still deliver great performance. He can also deliver a good mail order tune for his cams.

You can tune the engine to not surge with cams and lots of overlap. We run TSP stage 4 cam and springs in an otherwise stock LS3 with great sounding idle. In fact my son thought it was too smooth and programmed the timing to give it a more aggressive sound.

I got tired of it and told him to turn that crap off tho.. Ha

First cam we purchased for 6.0 carbed LS was an EPS cam, and I agree with Don they are really nice. Valve train noise was much lower with it.

I don’t think so but Pat G spec’d a cam with EPS lobes for my 64 GTO.

It looks like a good plan to send them my ECU to EPS so the car will run good with the new cam so i can at least get it to a dyno without blowing it up
