Dodge D150 build ideas.

I want to build a Dodge D150 from 80'-93'. Would it be wise to ditch the stock front suspension for say something like a corvette c5. I know no one makes anything as a direct replacement. I still would like the 5.5" bolt pattern cause I would like to run SRT-10 ram wheels. I'm new to this pro touring segment of the automotive industry spend most of my time in the off road world.

I doubt you could get that truck to handle with the stock front suspension. You can easily adapt a Mustang 2 type suspension to that chassis, however using the SRT wheels present another problem with the 5 x 5.5" pattern. You can check out my build for some ideas, "Project Cottonmouth", its a 67 Dodge, but similar. Good luck

No limit engineering has a setup for the c10 that has a 5.5 bolt pattern option. Would a suspension designed for such a small car like the mustang II hold up to full size truck weight?

just put an art morrison chass is underneath or similiar

No Limit makes a nice suspension package, in fact I bought their Fat Bar for the rear on my truck. For the front I ended up going with Scott's Hot Rods, they made it to fit my dodge chassis, and they already used Wilwood spindles which worked better for me, since my spindles are designed to be the same geometry. The modern MII suspensions are a lot more beefy than a stock MII, it should have no problem handling a pickup ( approx. 4000Lbs ).

After searching the web I think I'm going to run an after market ifs. This way I can use a more friendly bolt pattern and have a better selection of wheels. Thanks Tincup for the info I want something strong with big brakes. I would like to use Dodge parts. I wounder if I could use Dodge challenger srt8 front rotors and Viper calipers on a custom MII front ifs? The Challengers have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern which is close to 5x4.5(4.52 to be exact). If I wear out the brakes which I will I don't want to order and wait. If this sounds stupid and to much work let me know.
